Our terroirs

Grand Cru Zotzenberg

The Zotzenberg, a winegrowing gem nestling in Alsace, dazzles by its singularity. This vineyard, on the southern slope of the Mittelbergheim hill at an altitude of 320 m, is distinguished by its marl and limestone soil. Riesling, Sylvaner and Gewurztraminer are grown here, shaped by the unique combination of a privileged microclimate and the characteristic Zotzenberg soil. But it is the Sylvaner that takes pride of place on the slopes of this Grand Cru, and it is the only Sylvaner Grand Cru in Alsace. The steep south-facing slopes give the wines a rare elegance, revealing a distinctive minerality. The Zotzenberg, guardian of Alsace’s ancestral traditions, invites wine-lovers on a sensory journey where the terroir expresses itself eloquently.
